    cool test. Im not sure about the ies pattern from an led though.
    Were you working from a reference image?

      thats a pretty cool looking image.. although not very accurate to how a LED would light up.

      The led casts a rather even light because the whol LED becomes the light source in a sense.

          there are a couple of IES makers floating around the web, you should try to make your own to look a little more like the leds pattern

                  they look realy good, How did you get volume light to work with vray, I have spent very long time to figure out how it works, but never managed . I'd appreciate it if you could share some of your tips.

                        there is no volumetric light thats the pattern of the light on the table. (or surface its on if not a table)

                          yes there isn't any volumetric light in there.
                          there is just a simple spot inside the led's.

                            you could mistake the DOF on the yellow light at top for volumetric, i almost did

                            by the way nice lights... maybe rotate them a bit to each other so that the patern inside at bottom dosen't appear the same in each light

                            led lights always make me think of puting lights inside the case of my computer
                            ONLY TRUST A COMPUTER YOU CAN THROUGHT OUT A WINDOW
