  • Interior Render - Healthcare Centre Atrium Space

Just a quick work in progress render of an atrium space I am working on. Rendering times are still pretty quick, with the original 1920x1080 render taking about thirty minutes to calculate the lighting solution and render the image out. Although I have been using VRay for several months now, this is actually the first interior project that I have attempted to use the renderer with. I have tried to use it before, but because of tight time deadlines and relative inexperience with some of the settings I always found myself falling back on faking it with the scanline renderer. After much "trial and error" while trying to learn the different exposure settings, I think I am finally getting to the point where I feel comfortable working with the plugin for interior spaces. Any comments or crits would be much appreciated.

Very nice! I like them a lot.

    Where'd the plants come from?

Thanks Gilpo! The plants are from lowpolygon3d and were a bargain at only $24 for ten of them!

They look great although the angle on the last one is a bit much. Materials and lighting look really nice too. In the first image it looks as though there is a small reveal where the angled wood panels meet the beams which is a nice modeling detail. It seems to go away however in the other views. Maybe it's just a change in the lighting though. Nice job.

Also, where is the furniture from?

A "quick work in progress"? I'd love to see your work when you have more time. Very nice work.

Nice work. A bit dark for me but I like the saturation of the materials and overall light scheme. I have those same plants but getting the angle right so you can't see the planes is hard. Good for distant shots howver.

Thanks for the comments guys. Dlparisi, good eye. I looked at my model and for some reason the opening on the maple panel around the beam doesn't have the 1 cm reveal that the other two have.

Furniture models are from the Evermotion Furn Vol 1 collection. I can't praise these models enough - great quality and really affordably priced as well.

Sorry to be a little off topic, but I've been considering buying that furniture collection and was wondering if they came pre-textured or not?

And if they don't come pre-textured, you've done a great job on them, then.
