  • our last half year trailer ...

    Hi

Vray Comunity... No not yet a 1.5 test here...

This smal Film, We´ve done to show our abilitys about Characters effects and so on..

Well i know its not comparable to many others. But its where we´ve come to after half a year with only one client doning small Tv-spots..

I am sure we allready could do much bigger things right now.. but we have to wait for the right client ..

so doesnt matter. what do you think about...

Great stuff - really high quality work. The standard of your lighting in the architectural stuff you do is fantastic so I can only imagine how great your vfx work would be.

                      Really nice

Care to share some info on the shattering ice numbers? maybe a screen grab of your pflow setup?
Did you cut up the mesh by hand?

daforce, you could use allan mckays fracture script in conjunction with pflow

I didnt think, your feedback would be that good and positive...

Well i know.. in this forum people usualy are a bit to friendly in ciritics.. he he..

                            ok

                            well

First !!! this job is 50% me and the other 50% its "Jonas" known here as jonnybefree ! Great man! oh yes and also "Geddart" still has some credits in the little Carconstructing film...

Secound !!! Musik was done and integrated from "Christoph Garnerone" a smart Guy... for those who are interested for their own projects....

                            www.l-odo.com

the ice fracture was done using a function of the new max 8 pro-boleans.

i cut them all in peaces by hand using this tool. the small debris as you could see from the demofilm, (the preview i loved so much), was done with pf only using smal collision spheres .

for me the most difficult part here was the reactor debris..

it didnt work also with convex mesh, because the gap between the debris was to smaal. so the way to do this was to build the debris then aply a strong relax to all the debris as an instance and then to do the reactor calculation. this way it worked. after this i had to turn of the realx modifier and everything was fine.

secound problem on this ... aaaarrgh ... was the slow motion part. i thought ok well lets go, i only change the frames per secound in the animation windows... wich lead to unpredictable moving debris, getting faster and slower... faster .... slower ... faster .... . solution for this was , to do all the calculation allready with 200 frames per secound. this worked.

                            ok.. Characterstudio..
No the characters where done in CAT so far. after using it a bit, i am still not sure if biped or cat is better....

the way we used it was a bit the wrong way.. for example the axe animation. no storybord, only straight forward animation, and at last 6 minutes by hand animation with only twoo guys doing the work and in each scene two characters... if i had known before, also experianced character animators would do only about 200 frames a day, i would never have been taking this job.

but hey... this was our first animation job this way and we learned much..

well there´s so much experiance we took in this the last half year..

and we are still beginners. but thats realy fun.

So if you´ve got another Question... ask..
