  • Interior renders (in renovated firestation)

    Hey guys,

It has been some time since i posted some work i did for my company. Here are two new interior renders ive done.
Its an old fire station building wich makes for a interesting subject.

Made with 3Dmax8 and Vray 1.47 (hoping to make the step to 1.5 soon, still waiting for my dongle :P )

    Hope you like it.

Lovely stuff! I especially like the rugs.

The one thing that lets it down is the modelling of the bedding. It looks a little harsh/sharp for me.

Other than that the scenes give a really nice sense of light & texture.

                Very nice renders, Congrats !

IMO, the sofas need just a bit more in the materials, as now it is a bit hard to guess what type they are. Like on the 2nd image the top of the lamp (in closeUp) looks 99% the same as the sofa mat.

                Best regards,

                    Thnx guys.... about the comments:

the bed is actually an Ikea bed ive got in my room also... it also has damn sharp edges as ive walked into it already a couple of times(almost bleeding) so.... but mabey could use a bit more detail.

about the materials of the couch.... your right on that one i guess. The leather bumb and material get lost in the brightnes of the color. But the renders are already finished and approved so.

                    greets,

                    Niels

indeed very good. A bit more noise, and I could say its a maxwell render

I was actually referring to the duvet/sheets/pillows on top of the bed... At the moment it looks like you might hurt yourself if you jumped into bed.

Excellent work Nellis, specially the second one. Not that it matters now, but that structure of the first image in any other color rather than white would've been lovely!
Let me ask you something just in case you get some free time and interest in answeing: how do you compose your scenes? I mean, do you just start adding furniture and test render until you get a feel for it or do you plan maybe in sketches what kind of funiture will you use and what color scheme? I always have a hard time with this and end up taking ages to compose a scene. Your scenes look greatly composed.
                          Great job!

The sheets are from another bed in the evermotion series (archmodels) it looks a bit stiff indeed but on the other hand it makes for a bit of an illustrated look. kinda abstract mabey even.

                              diegofer_9:
The structure in the bedroom was a normal wooden colour first time around. But i got told by the client it had to become creme white wich is a shame. It had such a nice warm feeling with even more wood.

about composing the furniture... as you start out building the model of the house you get a general idea of the style of the building and mabey what people could live in it(sometimes this is already stated by the client) In my head i start building up the designs of the furniture but even so...i end up wit several tries with different sets.

i guess its just a very dynamic growing process.
