The cutains look strange over windows and openings, is this an alpha issue? Loooks like the window frames are on top of them with slight opacity.

Love the rug and floor, theres a really nice feeling of realism and depth around the lower part of the image.

i like it, jes 2nd the curtains are maybe a bit too transparent, and the good old background issue. looks a little off to me.
      but nice image!

      p.s.

I actually was really happy with the curtains, but i can see your point. The background is always an issue . I prefer to take a photograph on site but we didn't get to do this with this project.

The lamps fly because of the high settings, with lower settings i was getting spots on the ceilings and wall.

        Thanks for commenting.

Looks great. How did you do the rug? Vray fur?

The floor looks a bit too perfect. Did you use a procedural tile? Try rendering it to texture, dirtying it up a bit in photoshop, and re-applying as a bitmap.

The rug is indeed vray fur(three different ones). The floor is pretty much how our clients like them. I would like to dirty it up but i am sure they won't like it, it is indeed a procedural tile.

                good job, very clean.

i agree about the curtains, on the otherhand i'd make the brown lamp shade a little transparent (very little).

i'd add a tile skirting too.

Nice image. I'm gonna comment on your composition. Which isn't bad, but could be a little better I think. It looks you tried to squeeze as much into the frame as possible, but lowering your focal length. The table in the near foreground, basically doesn't add much to me. I would move your camera back, and raise your focal length so that you dont have so much focal distortion. That might involve using camera clipping, but would be worth it to me.

I think a dirtmap would really help in this image as well. Would fix your floating lamps, and also help with your couch, which looks like its kinda glowing in the deep crevaces, instead of being appreciably darker.

I like your image a lot. with the kind of quality that you've achieved I'd really like to know what method you used to create the gi and how long it took to render this frame. I'm doing an architectural thing now and its been a problem achieving the level of quality you've managed here.

around the painting on the left too, it's lacking depth out from the wall.

                          Thanks Guys,

We used exponential color mapping, dark: 3, Light: 2. Irradiance map with light cache. One direct light set to 10 and environment set to 12.

Some corrections made in photoshop, curves and color balance to ad red and yellow. A dirtmap is not available in vray 1.47.04 if i am correct.

We will make the switch to 1.5 next week probably. We can't switch during the course of projects (well maybe we can but to scared to trie it).

edit: i think the rendertimes was around 4 hours on 3500 pixels wide on a dual xeon 3,2 Ghz machine.

                              Much better.

The one thing I didnt like with the first image was the camera distortion which COMPLETELY distorted the floor.

                              Nice work.

Only other comment would be to add a base at the floor, especially with tile. It would never be installed and look that clean.
