  • Particle wires and Vray

After seeing the amazing works created by Tim Borgmann a while back, I was inspired to try and create some cool wire patterns for myself and this is the result. All done using pflow with a wide assortment of particle settings; then particles and their paths collapsed to polys and rendered through Vray with varied lighting setups and a few hdri environment maps for reflections. All elements were then thrown into After Effects where backgrounds, additional lighting and color tweaks were made.

        Great images
Can you explain a little more how they were created.
        A real interesting effect.

For the past few weeks ive been procrasinating/thinking about doing a very similar thing...
So well done for outdoing me before I even started, I guess.

            Great result though

              Thanks for the comments everyone!

The whole process is pretty simple actually. I used the Ghosttrails plugin to create the particle splines and once I was happy with the shape I simply collapsed them to polys, applied the shader and lighting, then rendered it.

                Really nice compositions.
You should run some more renders through with some DOF in post to bring out some nice bokeh on the reflection highlights

I was using a script to convert it straight to polys with no preview, which may explain my trouble...

Cheers for the heads up, I love little tricks like this

                      Very cool indeed.

I had assumed you used the script to make the splines. But ghost trails.. great idea.
