Very nice indeed. Is this all Max modelled?

All plants were done with GrowFX, the pots were done with spline/lathe. The furniture and other more complex objects were done in Modo where I rediscovered what it's like to model, and perhaps more importantly - to UV quickly. Lining the cane up would have been a pain in the buttle in Max.

          growFX

Nice stuff. The cushions look nice and soft. The plants look great; does GrowFX have a steep learning curve?

A bit, but imo it's much easier to use than XFrog, but not as easy as Onyx (which is because its plant specific - you dont tweak a path length, you tweak trunk or branch, etc., which is easy but limiting). There's a demo you can check out!

Procedural Hedge - done with VRayScatter. Based on a single spline:

And procedural traffic, again based on a single spline at the center of the road. (click for bigger)

can you tell more about the procedural traffic?
How does it work, what did you use?

The procedural traffic is based on a single spline in the middle of the road. VRayScatter is then used to place the cars at a regular pattern (it has the ability to place this pattern along splines so they align to it and everything). There are 2 versions of the scatter - 1 for Left Lane and 1 for Right. It is then duplicated for each car type, so there are about 10.

I would much prefer to use Forest Pro for it, because it can have multiples in 1 node and ALSO conform the items to a surface in addition to placing them along a spline, however you can't get them to follow the path as well as using a randomised pattern. So you either have soldier-like instances, or random but unaligned/unrotated instances.

                        nice!
the furniture material looks good. i've been trying to develop a similar material but it's not looking as good. what kind of setup did you use? diffuse and bumpmap.
                        nice smooth render.
what are you doing with it?
is the furniture for sale or download?
