Unbelievable. You could have told me this was the official video and I wouldn't have known the difference.
Great little unexpected twists throughout, and a top-notch professional quality to the whole video. Fantastic job.

Amazing stuff. Congrats on your work of love, it translates to something that will now be part of my imagination. Just beautiful.

          Caught some lens flare there...

I cant believe you made that as a fan video, it's better than most official videos that come out.

              Seriously incredible work.

No, I'm using Max 9. I just mean the regular "Hair and Fur" modifier. And instead of hairs I used "Instance node" and used a plane which had an opacity map on it. Then I converted it to geometry, attached it to the base bunny geometry and proxied the whole thing (about a quarter million polys).
To be honest, I was going for a fuller, softer look and it ended up a little more scraggly than I wanted.

From what I hear Max 2010 aint so hot.

A great peice of work. So 'buttery' smooth! If you are doing this on your own as a labour of love, what kind of setup do you have (hardware wise) and what is your toolkit of choice (software wise)?
                    Kind Regards,

I just have a Dual Core at home, but the Arch Vis company I work for (Focus360) was nice enough to let me use their farm to render. My frame times did get as high as 2 hours on the older dual cores. That was during the exterior shot where I had about 10,000 flowers which were 25000 polys each. All of them had glossy reflection and refraction, in camera dof and moblur. Vray is awesome.
Toolkit? Just 3ds Max and After Effects. A little Realflow action in there too.

wow, you made the front page of digg: "Fan-Made Music Video Restores Hope In Music Video Kind"

                                http://digg.com/music/Fan_Made_Music...sic_Video_Kind

Two best comments on the digg page:

"The guy who made this video probably has a beard"

"The fact that the video is AWESOME shows that he most definitely does have a beard. The only people who get anything done in this world with an ounce of creativity are the ones with beards. I'm pretty sure that's a scientific fact."
