    Hi,

    there?s a new interior competition on http://www.rhino3d.sk/viewtopic.php?t=425

The goal is to setup materials and render given scene in any Rhino rendering plug-in. If you want to try it (just for fun), download the scene >> here <<

Here?s my first try (stil WIP, though). Give me your crits and comments, please ...

      Nice mood and color overal.

      One crit:
What did you use for secondary engine ?
The shaded areas are a bit too dark (sort of like an occlusion render) and it gives it a CG look.

        Thanks, Tomas.

I used Irradiance map + QMC. Now I am trying IM + Light cache.

But there?s not only shadow but also some blurry reflection under the desk and sofas so it looks darker than the shadow itself...

            Pif,

Can you describe your floor material? Are you able to tile a jpg or is it one big one? How can you control the thickness of the planks?

            Thanks,
            Craig

craiggorton: hardwood floor texture is plain jpeg from got3d.com. I tiled it manually in Photoshop so it?s one big jpeg but with V-Ray beta 8 I?d be able to tile it directly in Rhino with planar mapping. The thickness of the planks can be controlled only by tiling.

micha: thanks, I did some test with IM + LC and I reached rendertime of 22 minutes :P

(Increible, la txturizacion y la iluminacion son espectaculares. Tengo una pregunta, en mi version de vray para rhino no se pueden poner buenos parametros de mapeo de texturas ni luces?

Paul: heh, It would be nice, but..... forum where this competition is was made only for czech and slovak Rhino users. So, I don't think u will be able to join :/ or, if u r czech or slovak, then u can join

pif: I think I commented it enough on icq =) excellent work....
