  • In the moonlight

Ok, I know it isn't realistic, because even in Birmingham the moon isn't that big, and the stars are more like 'star trek' viewed from the alpha quadrant, but I thought it made a change from my usual garden montages!

    david,

sometimes its just really great to see non architectural vizualisation. i also love doing it, just to express your interest, exploration, experimentation and for fun of doing it. really want to commend you on this step of going out from "usual things" have fun.

btw.. you know what i like here is your composition. how did you set the image size?

i think u should turn on GI. The shadow isn't so black even in the moon light. I think a very little dark enviroment skylight shwold be very interesting.

Thanks for the comments. I don't normally do 'fun', but I had just modelled an external light fitting, wanted to try it out and then got carried away by the moment! External night shots are are very unusual - especially for me - so yes it was about the fun and not having to worry about the photomontage aspect gave me the opportunity to play around.

The image size was originally set to match a photo (!), and is simply a manual override and set at 800x1200 - I then cropped the bottom to eliminate uneccessary (boring) paving, so the whole thing is an accident really!.

andeciuala - I tried it with the GI 'on' but didn't really like it - I might have another try though.

        Thanks

Agree with that, but anyways this allready looks good for presentations and that kind of use.

Did you paste the background behind in PS or did you projected it on a screen in back of the house? Or do you used the image as background by sky options in v-ray?

            Re: In the moonlight

            The background is just PS.
Some time ago I was trying out a new camera and took some shots of the moon - this is one of them. Keep it simple!

            Thanks

Nice work David, I think you did a good job. Long time no see bro. Looks like we both are experimenting on night shots. Unfortunately, I'm not getting the right effects for it. Anyway, I'll post it later and see what others think of it.

                Regards,

I would like to see this same model rendered with a night HDRI scene. ;D
