Re: hello, this my first render...
maggilla
This is a good start and most of the elements are already in place - reflections of a background etc.
I would replace the wooden 3d models with clipmapped people - more realistic.
Some textures need improvement - the kerb and the road (try CG textures.com) If you wanted to go the extra mile you could also PS a 'dirtmap' onto the road.
I would also get some sunlight on the scene, so create light and shade (even some dappled shade from trees out of the scene)
There are several illustrated examples on this site of the above, (just do a search)
Good Luck

Re: hello, this my first render...
This is the new version of my first render...
[img=http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/8108/pensilina3copiatm9.th.jpg]
I used the visopt "white corrected" that was on download section. I needed a darker light,
so I made: intensity multipier 0.3, size multipier 1
The problem are the light, they need a huge increase of multipier, is it true?
What kind of machine is the ideal for rendering? i use a 2gigabite ram and a
radeon x1600pro, what i should increase?
Thank you very much for your last suggestions, they have been very usefull!

Re: hello, this my first render...
I think you should remove first, all the lights that you have in the scene, and use only the sun( enable sketchup shadows, and be shore you have in vray/render options/global switches/lighting, default lights checked-witch is the sun).If you increase the size multiplier,(@ 10) you will get some nice soft shadows( witch is good). You can try also to use exterior visopt (check the description). If you see the shadows in sketchup, but you can not see them in your render, go to the environment, push the capital m, and push the update button, it helps. If your GI it's starting and you can't see the shadows, be shore you have checked "show direct lights" in Irradiance map/Basic Options.
Good luck!

Re: hello, this my first render...
thank you, but where should i increase the multipier, in Environment/GI/M?
Another thing, I'm rendering some prospect (no perspective mode), so i need to switch out the phisical camera. When i start rendering the result is a total white, i know that i should get down the exposure or the intensity of the light, but i don't know how i can do it.
Is it possible with the phisical camera to have a no perspective render?
Thank you very much, you all are very helpfull!

Re: hello, this my first render...
Hi..the only way to get more realitic renderings is to leave sketchup, use 3ds max or cinema4d, you get more realistic and amazing results, sketchup is ok but it is concetpual and 3ds max is for a final result, profesionals use most of the times 3ds max. try it is not so complicated...good luck...go to www.evermotion.org and check out the gallery

Re: hello, this my first render...
yes, that's the place where you will find "sun size".
You don't need to switch out physical camera, because , basically it does what a normal photo camera do( ISO, shutter speed etc), so if you use physical cam. already, it's very good. Only that you will have to make some tests to see how to adjust it right. When you turn of physical cam. you should reduce the multipliers down @ 1 or lower. So stick with ph. cam. if you can handle the render process better.Your last image looks quite professional!
