  • First Commercial interior render looking for Criticism/advice

    Hi Guys and Girls

I'm a newbie to SketchUp to V ray.
I'm an Commercial interiors and furniture designer and would love to get some feed back from you guys on my first render and post to the forum.
I've been reading through the thread for a while but I think it would really help me to get some criticism. There are some fantastically skilled artists and designers here so let me know what you all think.

    hi...
    it's looking fine.
i think that you could make some improvements to the floor, and some color corrections in photoshop...
if you let me see your settings, i guess i could help you make it a little more clean and realistic.
    nice start...

      Hi ARQESTEVEZ1

      Thanks for the quick reply.
      And the positive feedback

I'm trying to cut my render times down as much as possible while still having good enough quality images to send to print. The presentations we give to clients are almost always hard copies.

      My settings are below.

        Post production

Here is the result from the tweets in Light room.
A Photographer friend showed me the benefits of Adobe Lightroom. A great program, I may have to invest in the software.

The lightroom adjustment is a great improvement. The overall image lacks contrast tho, give it some and I think you have a cracking render.

yeah it need s a bit more contrast, bring it in photoshop and work on it, use curves adjustment and vibrance, but all and all its a great render, i love the subtle colors and feel of realism, lots of room for improvement but i like it

              Thanks Mr Senator

I can see what you mean about the contrast.
The cast iron material I used for the table bases is well off and needs to be tiled down massively. I also should have put more detail into the server y area to the RH alcove.
I also Think I should have moved the individual stools about more rather than having such a straight line. Were the other improvement you were thinking of regarding the modelling or the rendering process?
              Many Thanks.
