While i am still improving my scene, i forgot to mention that i used the excellent townhouse.hdr from Bertrand Benoit as a backround image in AE, which he provided with his material testscene.
Also the comforters texture is out of Fran Daveys linenfabric collection, which she also provided for free on her webblog.
Thx for those so far !!

How many hours do you have into this? These test scenes, which I see all over the web, are a little hard to work into a real work flow. Realistically, how many hours do you think you have? If a client were to approach you, could you realistically achieve your results in a realistic time frame, and per a realistic budget?
I was talking to a guy yesterday, and he was asking what it takes to get good results. I basically said, "basically, you can't charge enough for the hours you have to invest.". I went on to explain that it's really a labor of love, and you have to be a little crazy, not expect much sleep, and live on roman noodles. I imagine a scenario of selling a job, based on test scenes that they have a ton of hours on, and either want to charge an outrageous fee, or becomes homeless because they have one job that takes them over a month to complete.
Now, having said that, it's good to practice new techniques, on fictitious projects. But it probably should not be in a portfolio unless you can do it in a realistic, real world, scenario.
Any way, great job!Bobby Parker

By now i have invested about 12 to 14 real work hours in this project + rendering time.
The main goal was to test out some marvelous deigner setting to add it to my skillset
Other then that this scene was build completly from scratch... in a real project situation i am definetly faster in achieving good looking results
in less time, because there is a permanent feedback to optimize several aspects of a scene.
Best regards

Well, 12 to 14 hours is great! Sometimes I hear some astronomical numbers, but yours seem realistic. Today, it's hard to compete if you have to model everything from scratch. So, a robust inventory of assets, is mandatory.Bobby Parker
