I'm glad you did some changes to the background, the horizon line and perspective of the lake were pretty out of whack, making it look as though the water was somehow tilting toward the viewer. This version is much better! I still feel as though the BG could be lowered further still but it's not a deal breaker.

Same thoughts on BG. I think it needs to be more tilted down. Try aligning the horizon of the BG with the horizon line of your camera. I liked the contrast of the first more than the updated one. A little too much glow imho.

To avoid the white halo mess, with my tress opacity maps, the backplate is on a plane in the model. So, having said that, it would take a re-render to drop it. I used very little post, but what I did do, here is a version with slightly less.

Your pictures usually tend to be a bit 'dreamy' but I think you may have a little too much of it on the water.

I would just slightly color correct the background (or your 3D)
They're pretty close, but with some extra tweaking you can get it perfect

I changed the camera a little, the lighting a little, and did a tiny amount of color corrections in post.

Nope, I like the first one much better. I did tone down the interior of the main entrance.
