Thanks! I try to do my best. Life is pretty good here in the sunnier side but I miss the cold (every now and then).

Great work John (& the rest)!

Was secretly hoping to see some shots of Ruari's Leviathan project in there, as I'm sure you guys must have been involved in that one.

the outer space shots (desolate planet, astronaut, etc) look like something from Andy Weirs book "The Martian". Is it possible that his book is being made into a movie?

Yeah just syntheyes, max, nuke and vray. Naiad, fume and krakatoa for the fluid sims. Next step is to do slightly bigger jobs or do the same stuff but much better with slightly more time!

Nope. Ruairi had all the various concept bits done before and a few really talented folks doing individual sculpts and models for the bike, pilots and whale. The rest he did himself - lighting, other models and animation. The lovely folks at blur gave him the use of a desk and a renderfarm for a few months and helped with motion capture for the pilots. Before that, the crazy bastard spent about 7 months in my kitchen just grinding away at it between projects, it's seriously impressive the amount of willpower he has to keep going on such huge tasks. He would have done approximately 70% of the total thing by himself.
