Ok, so I'm on a real tight budget here. I'm making a workstation for use at home which for now will only need to be enough to get by.
The plan is to use a Chinese dual xeon motherboard to make use of some pretty inexpensive server hardware:
2x e5-2690 v2 CPUs 10 Core @ 3.0GHz,
64GB 1600MHz DDR3 ECC Reg.
Now, I'm stuck on graphics. Obviously budget is key; I'll most likely be going 2nd hand. Will a GTX1060TI work out? I have a GTX 1070 in my workstation here at work, but I must admit I don't really use GPU rendering (although I might consider it for testing purposes if its feasible on a mid range card). Do I get a card for running the monitors, then another purely for render purposes? What's the strategy here.
I'm using 3ds Max 2018 and Vray 3.6. Might get onto Corona if a 1 month trial will swing it.
