  • CPU + GPU rendering build, mixing different GPU ?

    Hi everyone !

Over the years i accumulated quite a few GPU that I gathered for a lot of different projects. I mainly use a Threadripper 2990wx render station along side my workstation rig.
I would love to make them contribute to my rendering workload. I've already tested some Hybrid rendering with the Vray GPU some years back and it was good.
I was thinking about taking my actual threadripper rig to take it in a large rack case that could also fit the extra GPU that i got. Pretty sure it's gonna be a tuff thing to setup in term of watt supply. Maybe separating will be safer but i'll need to buy one more render node.

So the extra GPU i got are the following:
    1x GTX 1080
    1x GTX 1080ti
    1x GTX 2080 SUPER
    1x GTX 2080
    2x RX580 8Gb

Is it possible to even mix nvidia and amd gpu for rendering ?
Will I be limited by the VRAM difference between cards ? (going from 8Gb minimum to 11Gb maximum i believe)

I'm not very much into GPU rendering so is it worth it ? (I assume yes cause of the raw horsepower of all those GPU but maybe there's problem i'm not aware at the moment)

    That's it guys,
Thanks in advance for your response !
