Hey everyone, my Nuke DVD's are out. Luckily there are many techniques that I cover which apply to other packages but this is all done in Nuke.

It's 2 dvd sets. the first is introductory stuff and does focus alot on
nuke specific stuff. I talk about all my hotkeys, shortcuts, scripts
that help make the workflow faster. I also work through many many
operators and explain what they do and why. Many of these operators
can be found in other packages so some of it does cross over. I show
a keying technique (and greenscreen footage is included on the dvd!)
with primatte. I walk you through a composite where I put a cg plane
on a photographic background. There is 5+ hours of material on this
dvd!
the second dvd is a bit more hardcore and goes into full production
composite with actual footage and finals from a commercial done at
Sway. I pull a greenscreen and use a few cg elements to create a
background that blends very well with the foreground. If you wanted
to know how to use multiple passes and zdepths with many elements to
create a realistic background, this is a good bit of training for you.
The render from the script on the dvd is theone that actually went
out on air for this commercial.
I also walk you through 2 keying techniques using very tricky film
footage. There is heavy motion blur on this stuff and pulling that
always presents challenges. I'll show you 2 ways to get around that.
This is very much a cross platform technique so anyone using any
package can pick this up. I take around an hour to explain these
techniques.
I then take you into the 3d world of nuke and explain how and why it
works. I feature a composite where I blend 3d renders with the 3d
system inside nuke and use the 3d data to place 2d pieces in the
composite. Once again, I talk a lot of compositing theory and tricks
to make it all work and get your work quality even higher than it
already is. This dvd is over 3 hours long.
Both of these DVD's have tons of info even if you're not a nuke
compositor. They are all done in nuke and I can honestly say that
DVD1 is more nuke centric in its approach.
