  • Can we do this SketchUp trick in Max?

    *Please see video*

In max, I can do ShapeMerge or EditPoly>Cut, but i'd like to have something faster like Sketch Up but produce cleanner models. Any ideas? Any plugin or script? Thanks in advance.

    ***gawd no!!! ****

If you looked at what sketchup was doing to the geometry while it does this... it gets very very messy, and needless to say you wouldn't be able to use this object for displacement.

Sketchup is great at what it does: quickly produce crappy geometry that is "good enough" for sketch-type uses. The downside is that the tradeoff for easy use is crappy geometry topology... same thing with FormZ.

      thx

      thanks for the respond.

well, that's why i'm seeking a way to do that in max. but doing ShapeMerge or CutPoly just take way too much time when I have a huge amount of city models need to be done. *sign*
