billboard plane for environments?

hi all

because I run into reflection problems if I use the screen option in map rollout for environments. I asking me if there's a script wich setups a plane with the image applied and billboard to the cam. the plane should automatically align to the cam, e.g. scale and rotation.

Are you referring to the problem of having a reflection pick up the screen mapped enviroment background, or having a screen mapped reflection Enviroment in the material slot?

Anyway, to avoid reflections incorrectly picking up the enviroment background, add a map the the Materials reflection Envirment slot. Many times the same background image set to spherical or such works, but you can create an image that will have no seams and use that if you need a lot of rotation around the object.

And, to get the background image to correctly reflect/refract in the scene you can use 1 of two methods. Either the Camera Map modifier on an object in the background that is larger than the camera fov. Or you can use the Camera Map Per Pixel Map in the Material on the background object
