    Anybody using NodeJoe???

I'm asking because it has gotten very quiet on the forums over there. I really like the product - it has greatly improved my workflow - but I don't want to invest in a dead-end product.

Are there any alternative node editors that people are having success with?

    Node Joe Rocks!!

i've tried a couple others (names escape me) but nothing compares. I hope they continue it further.

do you have something other than the beta?

I did some experiemnting with it and I think it's really great. I haven't needed to make any materials complex enough to benifit from it lately though.

I don't see any danger in putting NodeJoe into your pipeline since nothing it does will keep you from opening materials you create with it on computers that don't have it.

Well there were issues in the Past (Like BB Rendering not working. Not beeing able to open files without Nodejoe after once used and alike). So who knows...if you use it now they discontinue and we switch to 2k9 OR if there's something new introduced to VRay that breaks compatibility it COULD be an issue....and from experience i can assure you that 5 year old non-opening files is something you DONT want to spend your weekend with :P

That beeing sad according to the German section of the forum it IS still beeing developed and the reason for the forum silence is said to be cause noone has been posting bugs. They say that they are clearing some "organisational issues" and have 1.0 almost done.

        Regards,
        Thorsten

The plan is to start the coming week with the preorders here in the forum, there will be some news quite soon.

            So stay tuned!
I have used it in the past but stopped eventually because I thought loading times for the materials took way too long. It's a nice material editor to figure out how materials work and I might even install it again eventually. But for now I only use the standard Max Material Editor.

Anyone have an idea when they might do a max2008 version?
I would love to use it, but I can't seem to find any info.

The first official release will be out soon, and I believe they're in the final stages of finishing it up, and from what I've heard/read it'll be compatible with Max2008.
So the beta versions will only be usable with Max 9 or lower.
