Since quite a few of you might use AutoCAD for modeling, just found out a little timesaver which can save a whole lot frustration.
I was having trouble with switching between drawings with CTRL-Tab, or even through the menu, sometimes it took about 10 seconds before the drawing appeared. Usually only a second or two, but even that can be realy annoying when you're working on some high-pace modeling.
The culprit turned out to be the opened (although auto-hidden) layer manager. The time it takes to switch between drawings is related to the number of layers in the drawing....
So... close that layer manager and switching happens instantly again.
This happens for me on AutoCAD 2009, but ofcourse... it's still a problem with 2010.
