Archivizing old projects

So I guess every1 has run to it sooner or later...

How do u preserve terabytes of data ?

I was thinking of raring it all / store on some hdd in my basement but I'm bit scared of RAR data errors and fail archives...

How do you guys deal with it ?

floppy discs.
Or 1tb drives but dont fill them completly allows recover at a later date if corruption happens.
