I am looking into buying a scatter system and I was wondering which way to go. Forest Pack Pro or Vray scatter? Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

I would go Forest pack, It's great!!! besides the quality of the software, the customer service is one of the best I've seen so far ... Carlos is always willing to help you out, because of that the plugin is getting better and better.

Merc, of coarse. I have multiscatter, and it works, but support is slow. I am seeing that render houses, that develop their own utilities and try to sells them, don't provide the best support. I am sure there are exceptions, but this has been my experience. I don't think some of these guys know what they are getting themselves into. I am sure there is some ratio of development, and support, that they don't consider.

              What about carbon scatter?
              Anyone using that?
It has vray support, fully integrated in max and lots of render ready plants.
You can select several plants and populate your terrain with an ecosystem.
I wonder if this really works, sounds almost to good to be true.
              Reflect, repent and reboot.
              Order shall return.

i'd say more like max vs lightwave. or aston martin vs bmw. there are some people who would pick the other one... but not many.

I used to use forest at my last job, now i'm on multiscatter and dont like it one bit. it's clumsy, crashes 50% of the time after you've added the models you want to use, and the licensing system is terrible. it's stuck on old workstations we have to remote into to use it.

Forest is lovely and they develop it at a pretty outstanding rate. They listen to the user's comments too and can often add features based on user feedback.
