Our office is slowly getting everyone new computers, little by little. I told our IT dept that I currently have a dual quad and was wondering what the maximum number of processors one could get in one machine. Jokingly I said I wanted my new machine to have 32 processors. Which brought up the subject of what was actually available. Any ideas?

A dual 8-core is pretty sweet - would be interesting to hear if you can go higher than that
http://ark.intel.com/products/64597/ (although I know you can get one with a higher GHz speed...)

There is a point of diminishing returns with that. Looks like for anything above dual processors it's better to simply get more machines.
