I got this idea from looking at a video of some Lightwave renderer plugin.
As you work in the scene you have an active window that resets as you work, and subdivides quickly to show you approximately what the scene would look like, and as you work you can just set it to subdivide more or less on detail. I dont know if it was based off of a direct render/qmc style rendering setup, or a lightcache or irradiance setup, but it looked cool.
I dunno if this seems practical to anyone else.
Or is it already in Vray and Im missing it somewhere?
