I am wondering how the camera DoF subdivs play withing the final sampling.
Ie. if they are lower than the achieved QMC AA max rate, i understand they'll just evaluate "before" AA reaches the maximum (to determine the CoC), but what happens if they are higher than the max achieved subdiv by either the material or the AA?
Do they just carry on sampling the glossies, for instance, and area shadows, even if the material has stopped, or they are somehow separated from the rest of the QMC sampling entirely, and the subdivs are used only to calculate CoC and Bokehs on whatever the original, unDoFed image would have lead to?
Thanks in advance,
Lele
