Just wanted to share this since it got me super excited. Basically I've been working with VrayCamera and VraySky and wanted to add custom sky from cgtextures.com
SO
Finally figured it out. Placed the sky texture as a bitmap in the Rendering/Environment slot - and cranked the Output Amount to 40.0 (or whatever makes it bright enough for the scene with given vraycamera. Then in the V-Ray render tab, under Environment I've got the Vray Sky map in the GI slot and the sky map in the Reflection slot.
Presto, vray sun/sky still light the scene while I can adjust the sky at will and get beautiful reflections
ok that felt good. hope it helps someone else
