Hi,
Every-time I load a file in pd player, it has to decode the source file/format to cache it to ram.
This can take time, as often, a lot of time.
Would it be possible to cache the ram to disk so that if we open that same sequence again, we could load that cache who will only be read and cache to ram?
3D Equalizer has this feature, it writes the ram cache to disk so when you have a 3k frame sequence of 6k tiffs, it reads the cache from disk and you fly through the timeline.
With modern SSD that goes from 500Mo to multiple Go/s in reading, a big sequence should only take a matter of seconds to read/load in staid of a quite long loading time as it is now.
Thanks
Stan
