Hi,
I'm thinking of using a tool for encoding JPEGs with better compression. It has a lossy mode that saves ~30-50% HDD space (at compression level 90-95) with pretty much no perceptual visual quality loss. It also has a lossless mode which can also save ~10% space with absolutely no quality loss. So I was wondering what implications would this encoder have on image open times in Windows/Max and, of course, render times. Would there be any downsides or side effects of using this encoder?
