  • Need to cast a shadow onto object, but not onto the matte behind it.

So it looks like it is possible to do what I need in vray for maya, see here. https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...pler+Info+Node
Is something like this possible in vray 3.6 for max?

Basically I have an object in front of a building (BG Plate) it needs to cast shadows onto the building, easy enough with a matte object.
However the building across the road also partially casts a shadow onto the building. So I need it to cast onto my object, but it mustn't cast onto the matte as that doubles the shadow of the bg plate.

    Any ideas.
