Hi guys,
Like a few other people, I am having some probs rendering out my RPC's with VRay advanced. In particular, I am finding that they sometimes create unusual artifacts, and in certain instances they can slow lighting calculations to a crawl. Like others, I have also noticed that for some reason the maps are appearing slightly blurry as opposed to the regular scanline renderer.
I searched through the archives and saw that a number of people suggested rendering the RPC's out in a scanline rendering pass and compositing them in afterwards using photoshop. This may sound stupid, but I was just wondering how you folks go about this. I initially thought that just applying a shadow / matte finish to everything in the scene except for the RPC's would work, but I soon found that this didn't work as any RPC behind transparent objects or any objects using opacity mapping didn't render properly.
Just wondering what your guys workflow is for compositing the RPC people in.
Thanks,
Jason
