Why can't i render selected using Vray?

I can render regions but i would really like to render selected for compositing in photoshop.

If it isn't possible there a work around.

Render out the RenderID pass along with your normal render, then you have an easy way of selecting objects in PS that you maight want to tweak individually.
      hope it helps

The renderID is a good feature - but how do you get around lack of antialiasing?

It is better to use the VRayWireColor element.

You're right - wirecolor does antialiase, but still produces som uneven edges when you apply a 100% reflecting material (red box)

            Any reason?

              Thanks folks,
I've never used the render elements before but i'll have a look into it and if i can work it out.

At first glance it seems pretty straight forward but i've thought that before so any tips helpful.

What is the renderID feature? or where can i find it?

              Cheers
              Greg

It's one of the vray render elements.

V-Ray always antialiases based on the RGB color channel. So, if there is no reason to put more samples in a given place (e.g. the RGB difference is too small), V-Ray will not bother to take more samples. This may show up in other render elements as artifacts, which should not prevent you from using those channels as normal.

If you want to reduce this effect, you can turn on the "Object edges" and "Normals" options for the Adaptive subdivision image sampler, which will force V-Ray to sample object edges at the maximum AA rate. This will slow down the rendering, but may produce render elements with clean edges.

                  Best regards,
                  Vlado

Is that the 'Object Outline' option? - and what do you do on 1.5RC3 - can't see the 'Normals' checkbox.
