Last night I was up late making changes to a file and suddenly I get a crash in the file and max could not make a recovery file. Not a huge deal I went back to an earlier save and kept going. Then the renderings start coming out really splotchy - unusable. It looks crazy disco. I try everything and it seems like it must be a material but I cannot find it. So I create a new file, MERGE everything into it and its fine. WTF did I do to make it go crazy and what would merging have done to clean it up?
