  • Script for submitting "Incremental Add" thorugh Deadline

    Hi everyone,

I just wrote this script yesterday which let's me submit incremental add irradiance maps through Deadline (not sure if it works with Backburner, but it might...) so I can just send the whole thing and not wait for the GI to finish calculating before going home, it also works to pick -up rendering if there's an error and it loads the already calc'd IR map before continuing, it also renders a fly-through Lightcache for the first frame and, if it re-starts, check's to see if it's been calc'd and loads it as well, so no time lost!

To use it you have to set the irradiance map to "incremental add to current map", check auto-save and choose a location where to save the map. The same thing with LC, set it to fly-through and check auto-save. Make sure to enable "don't render frame" in the globals. Then submit the job making sure it only uses 1 machine at a time, otherwise there'll be errors in the IR map. You have to set the Deadline "pre-frame" script to use the script attached.

Then just change the settings to "from file" for both, point them to the same name as the file u where auto-saving to, and submit without using the script but with a dependency to the first job.

Please lemme know if you have any questions, I hope this can help some of you out!
