I am utterly amazed on how low you can get settings without loss of quality. For the first time in a year I have had a little wiggle room to do some test renders. I have been able to cut my rendering time to a 1/4 by playing with settings for optimal quality/speed.
My question is... I can judge speed by render time, but not by pre-calc time, or can I? I do mainly stills so pre-calc times are just as important as final rendering times. If I pull up 2 images in the RAM Player, both with stamps, I can't tell if one took longer to pre-cals then the other.
