I'm trying to optimize displacement in a scene and cannot quite figure out how to make use of the view dependent feature and the documentation is a bit lean.
If I'm using view dependent should I be setting the edge length in pixels differently for every res I render to? As in 3 pixels is a very small edge length in a hi-res, but not so small in a very low res image? Is this method somehow more adaptable within a single rendered image as well - meaning that it displaces the same map more or less finely depending on how big the object is in the frame?
I can't seem to get my head around what it is supposed to do and I normally just use the system units version instead - but this scene is getting into crazy render times so I'm scrounging for options
