TreeStorm trees, wind and GI

I am using TreeStorm wind-animated trees in a walkthrough. I have a separate lighting rig for the trees as I will be using a precalculated GI solution for the rest of the scene.

Is it a simple matter of going to the Vray properties of the TreeStorm trees and telling them not to generate or receive GI?
