VRScene to SketchUp

I am exporting an Evermotion tree in Max using VRScene into SketchUp and the leaves are not showing up. The trunk and the leaves are 2 separate groups, the trunk renders in SketchUp and the leaves do not. Now, if I attach the leaves to the trunk and make a single mesh in Max, then I re-export VRScene, it renders in SketchUp now.

I thought that VRScene would take any scene regardless of grouping and render in other platforms?
