  • whats the score with VRMATS in max

    as seen from my last few posts, im trying to get a max/maya/max workflow going.

    vrscene = no object motion blur, non editable in any way, bad viewport representation.

    fbx =no materials

    fbx +vrmat = promising BUT no automated method to apply materials, seemingly very flaky exporter in maya (ill make a seperate thread for that) -mysteriously vanished editor.


    can somebody explain why the vrmat editor is no longer supported in max or maya? it removes what possibility of editing existed, and we are left with totally un-tweakable materials. was it so useless it had to be removed? is there something better about to land?
