I'm not sure if it's a bug. But for me it appear to be a problem:
If you create a Multi/Sub-Object material with at least one material with displacement inside then whatever object you applied to it will be subdivide.
Even if this object have no id with the displace material.
Can it be possible to test if an object acutally have a id with the displace object before subdivide ?
