V-Ray: Frame buffer -> Split render channels
Make sure you already have something in there that's a valid path/filename. Now if you click it, it doesn't take you to the that directory, nor does it have anything in the file name field. The usual behaviour of a dialog like this is that it takes you to that directory, and has that filename in the filename field.
This is a minor inconvenience when you quickly want to call the render output something else (I name things by date, like 02July_SiteMass.tga).
