I'm having an issue with a few files recently. Usually they have a lot of vray 2d displacement but it's odd because sometimes they do not have this nor do they have large sets of proxies. All do have IES files with vray shadows. I've merged the file into a new scene and temporarily have solved it using x86 max with x86 spawners but would like to know why this happens. I can't raise my dynamic memory limit above 3gigs with x86 so I'll need to find a solution for those memory hungry files eventually.
Problem:
Precalculated LS cache.
Prepass and render time-When I use Max x64 to distribute using x64 spawner services the still image across my slave machines I see one 64bit OS and even two of these types of machines only use up about 35% of the resources.
Solution:
Precalculated LS cache.
Prepass and render time-When I open up the scene with x86 Max and distribute and use the x86 spawner all CPUs are used on all machines.
SPECS:
Vray
3 workstation licenses
Workstation
Max 2010 Design (x86), Vray 1.50 SP4a
Slaves
Running both x86 and x64 bit spawners.
I can't send the file just yet but perhaps someone has a similar thread that addresses this in the meantime. Thanks,
Carlos
