Hey there i am having this very strange issue where when i have both GI and direct caustics on in a scene with a material that has a blurred reflection, the reflection of the light source disappears. This makes the resulting image look very flat and lifeless. Here is a quick test render to show you what i mean:
To see exactly what was going on with the specular reflection i added a vray specular render element and when this issue presents its self there is nothing that shows in the render element for specular, even if i use a mult of 999999999999 it still wont come into view so i can only conclude that it for some reason is not there at all.
I am using 3ds 2011 sp2 and vray 2 sp1 currently, the light in the scene is simply a vray plane light, and all the materials are vray mats. Note: the problem disappears when using a vray light using a sphere instead of a plane
Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated
