I have been using DR since Day One, however I have always run into a problem which I'd like to know if anyone else ran into and if they found a solution for it on 3DS Max.
When I DR a scene I have X-Ref'd I usually get buckets. Now, let me give you under what conditions I get buckets:
1. I import the XRef into a new scene.
2. I add the lights I need for that new scene.
3. I hide in the Layers those layers that I don't want to show.
4. I add DR.
5. I render and I get shaded buckets from the slaves only.
6. I check to see if I have all assets in order and I do.
Could it be that XRef does not read properly on those other machines? I know for example, that if I was to save this scene of mine and re-start 3DS Max, the layer that I turned off will appear in my screen and I have to re-turn it off. So perhaps, those slaves are not getting the data that I turned off that layer and hence I get problems in those areas. I hope I explained myself.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thank you!
Alex
