  • Future use for the vrayimg format

    I would personally love it if the vrayimg format was extended upon to work like the renderman tx textures. It would then be vray's 2d version of proxies.
    The exact way of converting the textures would be better decided by clever programming guys (and gals), but the important features I would like to see are:
    • Writing x amount of mip maps of that same texture (user configurable).
      Enabling the renderer and 3d app to only load the parts visible for the rendering.
      Supporting a wide variety of import formats.


    No sure if I can think of any more features that are critical. Feel free to supplement or argue that only an imbecile would request such a thing
