Hi all,
Would it be possible to have a VRay 'ignore' material??
Could the SDK currently do this?
It would work like this
--When the renderer looks at the material it simply ignores any geometry that the material is applied to.
Although I can currently use the Vray material with complete opacity, this is limited by the transparency levels & is obviously slowed down by all the ray tracing. [ I am using this on a scene with thousands of trees!]
The reason for wanting this is to give variation to a vray proxy object [which obviously cannot have any mesh changed] using material variations to ignore some of the leaves/ twigs.
As mentioned earlier this is for a scene with thousands and thousands of trees and I believe the speed increase would be huge with this sort of material. Or would it???
Any info would be great
thank you
