This would be immensly useful for those using HDRI inside Vray light domes.
When leaving the Global DMC in Global subdiv, it's not longer possible to crank up the Dome Light to 200/300/400 subdivs. Combined with Irradiance maps, it often leads to ugly fringing on highlight/ shadow line.
The only way to reduce it is to either :
- Increase the MSR to insane values
- Increase the AA thresold to lower values, and lose the speed benefit.
- Switch to Local sudivs but you have to micromanage everything, which is completely counter productive
I know that high AA is not commonly used but combined with IM it's still a great way to have fast HD interiors renders under the hour.
A multiplier compatible with global settings and working like the "subdivs muliplier" in V-Ray object properties would be really nice.
