As per Tashko's post over here I just found out about the option to exclude a specific material from the Irradiance Map, so that it uses Brute Force GI instead.
Quite often we need to render interiors with only a few animated elements in them, so usually we bake the Irradiance Map for the room, excluding all the animated objects from GI and lighting them separately with a dome light (or whatever is necessary to make them fit into the surroundings lighting-wise). If the above mentioned material option could be added on a per-object basis to the V-Ray properties window, this would make things much easier (and better).
