  • sphere fade diameter dependent of its empty rotation

A very strange one. For a shot, I link an empty to my character hips, and I add a sphere fade linked to the empty. I discover that the sphere fade diameter vary when my character rotate... Sometime it can totally disappear.

    Vray blender V2.951
    Vray.exe 2.45

    a simplified file :
    sphere_fade_01.zip

    Procedure :
    open the scene, render.
    Reset empty rotation (alt+R), render.

I'll try to workaround by not linking with parent, and using position constraint instead.

This file is missing a lot of lib-linking and no animation for sphere fade, but I'll try a "guess fix" - now we'll export only the position.

I think i've deleted all requested linked libraries. It is normal there is no animation for sphere fade, you can just compare a render with and without reseting rotation on empty.

Ok, I've make it an option - now the is a control to "Use Location Only".

Thanks, but I don't get it. The issue isn't about using rotation or not, it's about rotation affecting sphere fade diameter (with a uniformed scaled object). No?

When using empty it's draw size in taken into account.
And if we will use only the location there just will be no scale and/or rotation in the transform matrix - won't this solve the issue?
But I think I'll also add an option to use scale, so we will use scale + offset.

hy, i wanted to test the spehere fade effect, but i have a strange effect...

              there is my work :

              Prepass irmap for backgroung (multi-incremental)
Rendering background with irmap from file.
rendering monkey with spehre fade : wtf ?

because I do not yet mastered the sphere fade effect, I made a prepass irradiance map of the whole scene, and it works fine
